A story of

LOVE FOR COOKING AND WINE

Our story began in the spring of 1981 when Nicoletta Ceola and Silvano Lazzari - parents to the current owners, Paolo and Laura - bought a historical cichetteria in the borough of Cannaregio. Today, you can find both second and third generations working passionately together.

Throughout all these years, we have maintained the same great enthusiasm and love for hospitality, our cuisine and our city.

Our menu features traditional dishes from Venice and Veneto (region). These are prepared with incredibly fresh raw ingredients and served with wines from our extraordinary wine cellar - one of the amplest in the city.

At Vini da Gigio, we prepare dishes with the finest produce that our territory offers. The protagonist of our menu is the lagoon, where we source most of the fish and vegetables used in our kitchen.

For many years we have been collaborating with local farmers who represent the best of our region, who always prioritise km 0, seasonal produce and, just like us, have always had the city’s fragile ecosystem at heart.

For 40 years, we have been selecting and collecting wines from Italy and the rest of the world. Our cellar is extraordinarily ample with great age-depth, without being too pretentious for those just starting to dip their toes into the wine world but also amazingly entertaining for experts and wine enthusiasts.

We also offer a daily wine-by-the-glass selection.
